Human Papiloma Virus (HPV) and Cervical Cancer
The Human Papiloma Virus or HPV is a very common group of viruses which can cause both genital and non-genital warts. Approximately 30 HPV strains out of 100 infect the genital area and cause Condyloma Acuminata, also named Condylomata or genital wards. Of these 30 HPV strains there are those called high risk viruses and those called low risk viruses. There are 13 known high-risk HPV viruses which can cause changes in cervical cells (cells of the neck of the uterus). These changes may develop into Cervical Cancer, which is why PAP smear tests are so important in discovering these changes in time to prevent changes progressing to cancerous cells. The Human Papiloma Virus (HPV) is a leading cause for Dysplasia and Cancer of the Cervix.
Risk factors for Dysplasia and Cervical Cancer
Cervical Cancer, a malignancy of the cervix, is the third most common type of cancer in women. The risks, connected with Dysplasia (abnormal pre-cancerous cells) and Cervical Cancer, are:
- HPV (Human Papiloma Virus).
- Smoking (especially in combination with birth-control pills)
- Multiple sex partners.
- Weakened immune system.
- Chlamydia (one of the most common sexually transmitted infections worldwide) and/or Herpes Simplex infection.
- Intercourse at an early age.
Lower these risks as much as possible and keep your immune system strong and healthy!
Fighting viruses like HPV, boosting Immunity and curing genital warts and genital herpes with Propolis
To fight off HPV, one should take an active part in health and state of body’s own immune system. HPV and cancer are both warnings that overall health and immunity are not as they should be. Bee Propolis is believed to be the most potent COX-2 inhibitor (a form of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that directly targets COX-2, an enzyme responsible for inflammation and pain) and has shown great results in boosting immunity. Bee Propolis is referred to as a natural antibiotic with anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and even anti-cancer properties with immune modulating effects. It helps fight diseases and conditions like epididymitis, orchitis, gonorrhea, syphilis and yeast infections, HPV, hepatitis, and canker sores. Bee Propolis is best when taken as a supplement in form of capsules, tincture or extract, but is also successful topically, in form of creams and ointments, which have shown surprising results in treating genital warts and genital herpes.
Genital warts and pregnancy
If you have a dormant HPV infection, pregnancy can sometimes trigger the outburst of genital warts or it can make an active infection worse. The warts may cause a number of problems during pregnancy and in rare cases, they can be transmitted from a mother to her baby during childbirth.
