In latest researches, Bee Propolis has shown antifungal activity on various Candida.
Candida albicans strains were collected from HIV-positive patients with oral candidiasis. The research studied the inhibitory effect of Bee Propolis on Candida albicans and compared it with standardized antifungal agents nystatin, clotrimazole, econazole and fluconazole. The Candida albicans strains showed resistance to standardized antifungal agents, while Bee Propolis extract inhibited the in vitro growth of C. albicans and formed inhibition zones similar to the ones formed by nystatin.

In another research the antifungal effect of Bee Propolis has been studied on 80 strains of Candida yeasts. The yeasts showed a clear Bee Propolis antifungal activity in the following order of sensitivity: C. albican s> C. tropicalis > C. krusei > C. guilliermondii.
