Wondering how to take propolis and how much to use?
Discuss with your doctor or pharmacist about how much propolis you should take. The amount will depend on the strength of the medicine and also the reason why you are taking propolis. If you haven’t received instructions from your caregiver, follow the directions on the label. Do not take more propolis than advised.
Before taking propolis, you should tell your doctor if you:
- are already taking medicine or are allergic to any medicine,
- are pregnant or planning to become pregnant,
- are breast feeding,
- are allergic to bee stings or bee products,
- have asthma, have eczema or nettle rash,
- have other health problems, such as high blood pressure or heart or blood vessel disease.
In case of side effects stop taking your medicine right away and talk to your doctor if you have any of the following: itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing, or rash.

You can put a few droplets on a teaspoon of sugar or easily put them in your favourite juice or milk and make your self a health-boosting drink.
